We're romantics at heart. We kept hearing from our single friends how hard it was to meet other compatible single people, and we wanted to help.
Put simply, we created StreetSpark to make things easier and more fun for singles.
For inspiration, we turned to our friends who weren't single, to find out how they met. And we found that many of them shared things in common.
They weren't in front of their computers when they met, they were out living their lives.
It was spontaneous. They didn't go out thinking 'I'm going to meet someone' today, it happened when they least expected it.
But when they did meet, they felt like they'd known each other for years.
Serendipity played a big part in them even meeting in the first place. Thank you serendipity.
Some were introduced through friends, who knew them well enough to know that 'this is someone you have to meet'.
There was a healthy amount of flirtation.
And an even healthier amount of fun and excitement in the beginning that has stayed with them. Start as you mean to continue is the message there.
In any busy, fun city, there are literally hundreds of people you haven't met yet but should.
We created StreetSpark to increase the opportunities for these paths to cross. Or maybe they already are but you just don't know it. Either way, StreetSpark will let you know. Basically we want to increase the chances of serendipitous encounters occurring.
So tell your friends - the more people who join, the more that is likely to happen to you!
Alright the first thing to do is to go to the Profile section and fill in as much info as you can both in both sections – "About You" and "About Your Perfect Match".
Next add a photo in the Photo Tab. Then update your Location in that tab.
After that you can come back here and add your Status Message and turn on Match options in the MatchBox to reveal your Sparks (what we call matches) in the SparkBox. Then you can ‘Ignite’ those you like and ‘Extinguish’ those you don’t! Once you both have Ignited each other the Spark will move to the Ignited tab. From there you can click on the Spark to reveal that person's full Profile. You can then chat. So get on with it!
Whoa there! Have you filled in your profile yet? You won't get any Sparks until you've filled out the 'About You' and 'About Your Perfect Match' fields under the Profile tab and uploaded a Photo. Once that's sorted, come back here and activate these Match icons.
Bonus points for making the first move! If it's mutual and they Ignite you, the Spark will move to the 'Ignited' tab where you can view their full profile.
